Nippon Express Netherlands opens logistics hub in Nijmegen

The Netherlands-based subsidiary of Nippon Express Co. Nippon Express Nederland, has opened a logistics centre in Nijmegen, a city located in the southeastern province of Gelderland, says release.

The new facility, which covers an area of more than 200,000 sq m, will serve as a gateway for air and ocean cargo and will cater to the company’s customers in Europe.

Nippon Express Nederland said in a statement that the hub will also be used as a storage and distribution parts centre for Takeuchi Manufacturing Co. — a company that develops, manufactures and sells small construction machines.

Air cargo ground handler Nippon Express Thailand was merged with and seafreight and trucking business Nippon Express Logistics Thailand.

The company said the integration of the subsidiaries has created a “one-stop shop for its warehouse storage and cross-border transport services”.
