United continues cargo-only network expansion

United Cargo is continuing expansion of its cargo-only flight network with the addition of several new destinations.

The carrier said it is set to add flights to Dublin, Paris, Rome, Santiago and Zurich as it continues to expand operations following the suspension of many routes as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The move would offer connections to “key pharmaceutical and perishables markets”, it said.

Jan Krems, President, United Cargo said, “Air cargo continues to be more important than ever. This network expansion helps our customers continue to facilitate trade and contribute to global economic development and recovery. I’m proud of our team for mobilising our cargo-only flights program that enables the shipment of critical goods that will support global economies.”

United Cargo said that since it began its cargo-only operations programme on March 19, it has carried out more than 2,500 flights, transporting over 83 million pounds of cargo.

It has over 1,100 cargo-only flights scheduled for the month of June, operating between six US hubs and over 20 cities all over the world.
